Alternative Energy
Environmental issues have become more and more prominent in the states in the past forty years. Americans consume and abuse our non renewable resources more than any country in the world. Our gas and food consumption is out of sight. Our abuse of materials is ridiculous as it can all be prevented or taken care of without changing, dramatically, the way we live. By swapping our light bulbs, changing the materials we insulate with, using less electricity, and modifying our auto industry we could cut our usage by up to 30%. Now that may not sound like a lot but environmentally speaking it’s a ton. Little things can save our world.
The way we live, if we changed just a few things, can save what we are desperately losing so quickly. By saving the environment we are saving ourselves. If not for the right reasons for changing, think of it selfishly. We will die out if we do not start changing things now. Alternative energy solutions are on the rise but lack support from everyone. Granted there are a portion of people, but alas a portion is not enough. We as a whole need to move for more efficient energy solutions and alternative fuel sources. With all that’s weighing on these scales it only makes sense. This is not an avoidable topic it is one of our biggest issues on this planet, and we as the US nation are its top offender. Alternative energy should become our main energy sources. It is not even that much more expensive to build a energy efficient house or automobile. The overall long-term costs are significantly less also. With all this evidence pointing to saving the world and our own skins, why not change?
